Medicine Park Oklahoma holds a very special place in Caroline’s heart. This small town of under 400 people is where Caroline grew up and spent time exploring the wildlife refuge where the buffalo and longhorn rome. Medical Park was founded in 1908 by John William Elmer Thomas, as a resort town with healing properties. Thomas fell in love with every aspect of it, from the unique cobblestone deposits, to the mountains and plains that surrounded the town, to the wilderness beyond the horizon. He bought the land and began construction on what he called the “Medicine Park Summer Resort and Health Spa,” referring to the medicinal qualities of the nearby Medicine Creek that the Plains Indians had told him about while visiting. Today Medicine Park is still considered to have healing waters that visitors from all over come to soak in.
Caroline loves to return home to visit her mother and father who still reside in the small town. She brings her sons to hike, swim in Bath Lake and share in her experiences she had as a child; including those of helping her father as the local veterinarian. This town has character, art, friendly and welcoming people, native history, amazing wildlife, Meers burgers and some of the most beautiful scenery to be experienced in North America.
Welcome home…..
